Summary of
Public Scoping Comments
The U.S. Department of Energy office in Grand Junction, Colorado, hosted six public
scoping meetings during January 2003 to solicit comments
on alternatives
for the draft Environmental Impact Statement for remediation of
the former uranium ore-processing site and vicinity properties near
Moab, Utah.
The oral comments
made during these meetings were captured on flipcharts and transcribed.
Comments were also accepted orally through a toll-free Environmental
Impact Statement hotline and in writing by mail or email through
February 14, 2003. The comments received during the public scoping
meetings are listed in random order. A cross-reference list of the
assigned comment number to the commenter is provided for comments
received through the toll-free number and for written comments.
The comment number appears next to each written comment.
